The Social Dilemma
"The Social Dilemma" is a thought-provoking documentary on Netflix that examines the negative aspects of social media and its influence on society. The film explores how algorithms manipulate users' behavior and thoughts, resulting in issues such as addiction, mental health problems, misinformation, polarization, and even threats to democracy, through interviews with tech experts, former employees of major platforms such as Facebook and Google, and psychologists. It demonstrates how social media firms prioritize profit over their users' well-being by employing customized advertising strategies that exploit human weaknesses. The video concludes with a call to action for viewers to become more conscious of their internet consumption habits and the ramifications of algorithmic decision-making in our increasingly digital environment.
Personally, I found the Netflix documentary "The Social Dilemma" to be a thought-provoking and eye-opening look at the possible hazards and societal consequences of social media platforms. To mention again, the video skillfully explores how these platforms utilize algorithms and AI technologies to abuse users' attention and influence their behavior for profit. "The Social Dilemma" offers insight on how the architecture of these platforms can lead to difficulties such as disinformation, polarization, addiction, and mental health concerns. The documentary is a cautionary story about the unforeseen repercussions of our growing reliance on social media for knowledge, connection, and enjoyment. Overall, I feel "The Social Dilemma" is an essential work that encourages viewers to think critically about their connection with technology and the ethical consequences of its usage in today's society.

Hey Adam, your answer was pretty good, and I liked your take on the reliance on social media within our society. I also had some similar takes from the documentary with how they told the story of how social media has created unforeseen repercussions from the business standpoint, and from the consumers as well. This documentary did a good job with making the viewer critically think as you stated with our connection to social media, and just how ethically good, or bad, it is becoming for the generations to come.
